Another New York Fashion Week has come and gone. There were lots of looks we loved, particularly Alexander Wang who has an up-to-the-minute real world casualness about his collections, the revamped modernism at Diane Von Furstenberg and the downtown vibe at Opening Ceremony.
But the true excitement for us this go-round was Visible Interest designer Lauren Chisholm showing her kicky new black onyx looks as part of Irina Shabayeva’s runway show. We were thrilled to be invited and see Lauren’s new vision first hand. Her collection has always epitomized modern jewelry: minimalist, geometric, refined proportions. And it’s exciting to know there is more to come as she branches out into new directions and materials.
We can’t wait to carry the new looks, but in the meantime, we still revel in her current collection of pearls, diamonds and fine metals and wish we could own every single one.
It used to be that magazine editors predicted what was trending in the industry by attending fashion shows, working with national retailers each month to see what consumers were buying.
